The Department of Agriculture is tasked with promoting sustainable farming, protecting the state’s food supply and managing public lands for the benefit of all residents. Its mandate includes supporting farmers and ranchers through subsidies and research, regulating and inspecting food safety, fostering rural development and conserving natural resources. It also manages outdoor recreation and conservation programs, ensuring that the state’s parks and wildlife remain accessible and protected for future generations.
