The Department of Transportation is mandated to:
Develop, maintain, and manage transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, ports and airports.
Ensure safe, efficient and sustainable movement of people and goods.
Regulate transit services and promote equitable access to transportation.
Support disaster management and emergency response operations to keep communities safe during crises.
Infrastructure Division is responsible for planning, building and maintaining the state's transportation networks.
Transit and Aviation Division oversees public transit systems and airport facilities.
Disaster Management Office coordinates emergency preparedness, response and recovery efforts in collaboration with other departments and agencies.
