Mandate

The Department of Transportation is mandated to:

• Develop, maintain, and manage transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, ports and airports.

• Ensure safe, efficient and sustainable movement of people and goods.

• Regulate transit services and promote equitable access to transportation.

• Support disaster management and emergency response operations to keep communities safe during crises.
